Bill Maher Torches Dems for Listening to Young Voters – Party Went From ‘Men Can Have Babies’ to ‘We Like the Terrorists’
Bill Maher blasted the Democratic Party and its younger supporters on Friday’s episode of Real Time, warning that the party risks alienating mainstream voters by embracing radical ideas.
During his “New Rule” monologue, Maher argued that Democrats have shifted from promoting progressive ideals to tolerating what he called extremist rhetoric and a complete embrace of Hamas.
Maher said the Democratic Party’s issues after the 2024 election are that its base of young voters increasingly supports ideologies that are hostile to American values.
“Their young people, their key constituency, not only don’t like their own civilization, they like the wrong one,” Maher said. “They actually think Hamas is a liberation movement.”
He cited a number of recent examples of pro-Hamas chants, including protests at American universities and pro-Palestinian chants at music festivals and political rallies.
“At Coachella this year, when an Irish rap group projected onto screens, ‘Fuck Israel, Free Palestine,’ it got big applause,” he said. “Globalize the Intifada is the catchphrase that’s really catching on these days.”
Maher also referenced an incident at a rally for Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT), where a Palestinian flag was draped over an American one, and received cheers from the crowd.
“What should have happened after that is one of the adults on stage should have told their young loyal followers, ‘This is not a symbol of freedom,’” he said.
The host warned that Democrats that follow these radicals’ lead would pay a political price, as well as singled out Sen. Alyssa Slotkin (D-MI) as being correct when she equated liberals to being “weak and woke.”
“Especially the white ones, and they indulge all sorts of nonsense from their kids, a pattern that then continues on in the Democratic Party,” he said. “Last election, it was all the gender stuff—the insistence that men can have babies and such—and now I fear that ‘we like the terrorists’ is the new that.”
Maher concluded that young Democrats were “like the girl in White Lotus who was going to live in a Buddhist monastery and then lasted one night.”
