The 5 Most Insane Moments From Pam Bondi’s Whirlwind Tenure as Trump’s Attorney General

President Donald Trump‘s announcement regarding the ouster of his “loyal friend,” former attorney general Pam Bondi, has been met with overwhelmingly positive reactions among Republicans and Democrats alike.

Bondi’s tenure was one filled with scrutiny and displeasure on all ends of the political spectrum, and rumors of Trump’s frustration with Bondi’s work have swirled for weeks, particularly related to her handling of the files related to Jeffrey Epstein.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has insisted that Bondi must still testify before Congress, despite losing her AG position, declaring she “must answer for her mishandling” of the Epstein files.

Here are the five most inane moments from Bondi’s 13-month tenure:

1. Bondi Tells Fox the Epstein Client List Is ‘Sitting On My Desk’

In February of 2025, Bondi told Fox News that Jeffrey Epstein’s client list was sitting on her desk and actively being reviewed. By July, Trump’s Department of Justice and FBI concluded Epstein did not have a “client list” and that there was no evidence he was blackmailing “prominent individuals,” directly contradicting Bondi’s claim that the information had been on her desk.

“It’s sitting on my desk right now to review,” Bondi told Fox News. “That’s been a directive by President Trump. I’m reviewing that. I’m reviewing JFK files, MLK files. That’s all in the process of being reviewed because that was done at the directive of the president from all of these agencies.”

2. Bondi Gives MAGA Influencers ‘Epstein Files Pt. 1’ Binders

Bondi reportedly acted on her own without the White House’s knowledge when she gave a handful of MAGA influences a binder of documents from the Epstein files. According to a report, the influencers were invited to the White House so that the Trump administration could “engage influential pro-Trump voices who the president credits with aiding his 2024 campaign,” not to give them the documents.

An ABC News report revealed: “Ahead of the Justice Department’s public release, Bondi directed her staff to compile binders of the materials to distribute to the influencers at the event, sources said. She also instructed her team not to inform White House officials of the plan, according to multiple sources, apparently thinking the surprise would be well received inside the West Wing.”

3. Bondi Angrily Tries to Shut Down Epstein Probe in Wild Cabinet Meeting

During a July 8, 2025, Cabinet meeting, Bondi shut down questions on Epstein, declaring “and that’s it on Epstein!” after attempting to clarify her February remarks regarding an Epstein “client list” on her desk and responding to conspiracy theories that arose when it was revealed a minute of video footage was missing from the Manhattan jail when Epstein died.

“In February, I did an interview on Fox,” Bondi said in her efforts to address the blunder. “And it’s been getting a lot of attention because I was asked a question about the client list. And my response was, ‘It’s sitting on my desk to be reviewed.’ Meaning the file — along with the JFK, MLK files as well. That’s what I meant by that.”

4. Bondi Claims ‘Hate Speech’ Is Not Protected as ‘Free Speech’

Bondi told former White House official Katie Miller that “there is no place” for “hate speech” in America, vowing to “target” anyone who engages in hate speech.

“There’s free speech and then there’s hate speech, and there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie [Kirk], in our society,” she said. “We will absolutely target you, go after you if you are targeting anyone with hate speech, anything, and that’s across the aisle.”

She later took to X to offer clarification.

“Hate speech that crosses the line into threats of violence is NOT protected by the First Amendment,” she wrote. “It’s a crime. For far too long, we’ve watched the radical left normalize threats, call for assassinations, and cheer on political violence. That era is over.”

5. Bondi Tries to Escape Tense Questioning From Congress by Hyping Stock Market Numbers

Appearing before the House Judiciary Committee on Feb. 11, 2026, Bondi struggled to curtail questions about whether she would be investigating any of Epstein’s potential co-conspirators. In lieu of addressing the questions, she began to boast about the stock market.

“The Dow is over 50,000 dollars!” she declared. “I don’t know why you’re laughing. You’re a great stock trader as I hear, [Jamie] Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. Americans’ 401k and retirement savings are booming. That’s what we should be talking about.”
