Bolling: Was Tahmooreesi Release Planned for Midterms?; Greta: ‘Are You Kidding?’

Greta Van Susteren joined her Fox colleagues on The Five today to talk about her exclusive interview with Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, the United States Marine who had been held in Mexican prison for months after making a wrong turn. Van Susteren was arguably Tahmooressi’s chief TV advocate, and talked with her colleagues about his state of mind and the long-fought attempts to get him free.

Eric Bolling had a bit of a unique question for Van Susteren. He clarified that he’s not trying to suggest a conspiracy here, but wondered abut the suspicious timing of his release. Bolling asked, “Was there any negotiation between the administration and the Mexican government to let this guy go before the elections?”

The first three words out of Van Susteren’s mouth were “Are you kidding?”

She said that it was PTSD that helped Tahmooressi get out of prison, because, she explained, all you need do is watch a few seconds of video and you’ll see he has PTSD. “I don’t know what this was,” Van Susteren concluded, “but it certainly wasn’t trying to spring him to help the administration.”
