CBS Plans Big Primetime Tribute to David Letterman

Before he heads off into the sunset on May 20, CBS will air a primetime special tribute to Late Show host David Letterman on Monday night, May 4. The 90-minute special, titled “David Letterman: A Life on Television,” will be hosted by comedian Ray Romano.

The show is expected to focus on clips from Letterman’s 22 years with CBS, but could also include moments from his time hosting Late Night on NBC and his short-lived morning show before that.

If for some reason Jay Leno is unable to appear as a guest during Letterman’s final weeks, perhaps he can find a way to pay his respects in the primetime special.
