Chris Matthews: There Really Is a ‘Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy’ Against Hillary

vlcsnap-2016-01-26-14h56m59s585MSNBC host Chris Matthews came to Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton‘s defense Tuesday, saying on Live with Thomas Roberts that there really was a vast right-wing conspiracy out to get her.

Matthews got the ball rolling by going after the CNN town hall participant who asked Clinton if she was dishonest. “Talk about bad manners,” he said. “Wow, you’re saying to the former Secretary of State, former Senator of New York, ‘you’re dishonest’? Talk about nervy…”

Mathews said that Clinton’s only response was to question the motives of those calling her dishonest. “Which is unfortunately for her very much like what she said back in the [Monica Lewinsky] days, when she said, ‘There is a vast right-wing conspiracy out to get me,’” he pointed out.

“When, in fact, there is!” he argued. “This is the weirdness about politics. It can be that you also have a problem, but your enemies are going to blow it up out of proportion.”
