CNBC Host Trashes Al Gore as ‘Charlatan and Villain’
Who had the most impact on the world in the past 25 years? It’s not an easy question to answer, but it’s one that CNBC is asking people to vote on, but on CNBC today, Andrew Ross Sorkin suggested another name on the list: Al Gore. This choice did not sit well with co-host Joe Kernen.
Sorkin argued that even if you don’t accept the premise of Gore’s global warming arguments, it’s difficult to argue that his global warming push hasn’t had a profound effect on the business world and how companies are looking to be greener.
Kernen shot back, “Yeah, if we put charlatans and villains on there.” He said if Gore’s going to be on the list, they might as well add Ken Lay or Bernie Madoff too.
Kernen has previously gone off about the “bonafide cult” of “enviro-socialists” speaking out on climate change.
