CNN’s Alisyn Camerota: Trump Supporters Don’t Read Time Magazine

Time‘s latest cover is yet another blistering rebuke of President Donald Trump‘s administration, though CNN’s Alisyn Camerota isn’t sure his base will care about it, or even take notice.

The magazine’s new cover shows the president looking in the mirror and seeing himself as king. Judging by the accompanying cover story, the new issue will focus on the constitutional implications of Trump’s attacks on the Russia probe, as well as his recent statement about his “absolute right” to pardon himself.

The new cover came up during a discussion on CNN’s New Day, and even though the panel agreed it was a legitimate take on how Trump sees himself, Camerota pointed out that Time might just be “preaching to the choir.”

“Not a single person in President Trump’s base has read Time Magazine for a long time,” she said.

Dana Bash noted that Trump loves it when Time‘s covers feature him, though she and her colleagues doubted the new one will get a spot on his wall.
