CNN’s Phil Mudd Bashes Dems For Leaking Damning Info on Dr. Ronny Jackson: ‘Third-Rate Kneecap Job’
New information continues to surface about various misconduct allegations plaguing the nomination of President Donald Trump‘s pick for VA Secretary — Dr. Ronny Jackson. Much of that information was released by Senate Democrats. And for one CNN contributor, this was a source of great consternation.
Appearing on The Lead Wednesday, Phil Mudd blasted Senate Dems for releasing information about Jackson — rather then question him about it during a confirmation hearing.
“They’re supposed to have a hearing where they ask questions and give the nominee a chance to answer,” Mudd said. “Instead, what they choose to do is a third-rate kneecap job to try to get the White House to pull the nomination to embarrass the president. I understand that. That is the cesspool of Washington, D.C. It doesn’t mean it is honorable or that is the kind of thing we should teach to a kid in high school civics.”
Mudd didn’t let the White House off the hook either. He ripped the Trump administration for doing a poor job of vetting their nominee.
“Somebody at the White House personnel office could’ve said ‘I’m not sure we want to [nominate Jackson].’ The White House didn’t do that. And now they’re stuck.”
He added, “If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog. Both sides failed. Dishonorable, this is.”
