Cops Release Video of Kilmar Abrego Garcia Traffic Stop: ‘He’s Hauling These People For Money’
Newly released bodycam video from 2022 shows the Tennessee traffic stop that President Donald Trump’s administration is citing as evidence to support the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
The footage, obtained by Fox News Digital, shows Tennessee Highway Patrol officers pulling over Abrego Garcia for speeding on November 30, 2022. Records detail how eight other men were crammed into the modified SUV, with four rows of seats.
“How many rows have you got in here? Four seats? Four rows of seats?” a state trooper asked Abrego Garcia. “Did y’all put an extra one in? Huh? Did yall put another one in no? They come like this? I’ve never seen one with that many seats in it.”
During the stop, the troopers interrogate Abrego Garcia on the $1,400 in cash he is carrying and an invalid Maryland driver’s license.
“He’s hauling these people for money,” one trooper says in the video.
An unnamed source told Fox News that the troopers called ICE after entering Abrego Garcia’s name into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and received an alert flagging him as a possible gang member. The agency never showed up, the source added.
Abrego Garcia was deported in March to El Salvador, where he was transferred to the notorious CECOT prison as part of Trump’s arrangement with the country’s president, Nayib Bukele.
The Supreme Court ruled that the administration must “facilitate” Abrego Garcia’s return to the U.S. The administration has labeled Abrego Garcia a member of the MS-13 gang, despite having no gang-related convictions. His legal team has forcefully denied the claim.
Trump, meanwhile, has pushed back hard on the ruling, arguing that the Supreme Court’s decision doesn’t require him to bring Garcia back.
