Daily Mail Suggests Sharpton Will ‘Get the Bullet’

Now that we’re done with the Llamas on the Llam, let’s go back to the uncertain fate of the Rev.Al Sharpton, whose colleagues at MSNBC, amidst plummeting ratings, are being cut left and, well, left. Sharpton himself has his own amount of controversy, notably a $20 billion lawsuit against MSNBC’s parent company, Comcast, alleging that Sharpton himself took money to tout Comcast’s bona fides as a diverse company, and rumors are that he could be fired.

Wait, no, Daily Mail, not like that!!!!

The reporting in that article is based on a week-old report from The Daily Beast, and there are no new sources implying that Al Sharpton is in imminent danger of losing his show. Even the Beast article in question hints that Sharpton will only be moved, not axed (their bet is on Chris Hayes).

But sure, someone wanted an over-the-top headline, so might as well slap one on an unconfirmed story about a media figure based on week-old reporting? Okay. Cool.

UPDATE: An MSNBC spokesperson tells Mediaite that the network has no plans to move Sharpton’s time slot, much less fire him or shoot him in the head.
