David Letterman Casually Admits He’s Wasted at the Indy 500
Ever since he retired from The Late Show, David Letterman has let his beard grow out, started jogging, and basically solidified his status as America’s cool grandpa. When did that last one occur, you ask? Well, when he had the time of his life covering the Indianapolis 500 on Saturday.
Letterman was on ESPN’s Sportscenter, where talked about how he was sponsoring the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing team in the race’s 100th run. Letterman was clearly invested in what went down, saying that people won’t be seeing him around much anymore if his team lost.
“If we don’t win, I have every intention of faking my own death,” Letterman said. “I know a fellow who will remove my fingerprints. I have a post office box somewhere on the planet, that’s all I can tell ya.”
If you’re trying to make sense of what he meant by that, For The Win picked up on how Letterman ran out of f*cks to give and told the crowd that he was drunk in the most casual way possible.

Needless to say, the crowd loved it.
