ESPN’s Hannah Storm Breaks Down Reporting Stuart Scott’s Passing

ESPN anchor Hannah Storm relayed the news Sunday morning that the sports channel’s longtime anchor Stuart Scott had succumbed to cancer, breaking into tears as she threw to the network’s tribute.

Scott had developed a distinct, enthusiastic style over two decades with the network and was remembered Sunday in a spontaneous outburst of tribute from colleagues and players on television and Twitter.

He received the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at last summer’s ESPY Award, when he said the words Storm quoted: “When you die, it does not mean that you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live, and in the manner in which you live.”
