F-18 Fighter Jet Crashes Into Apartment Building In Virginia

Friday afternoon, a Navy F-18 fighter jet crashed into an apartment building in a residential area of Virginia Beach, Virginia. The two crew members on board were able to eject themselves from the aircraft, although their current conditions are unknown.

As CNN reports, the plan went down in an area populated by many military families, including both active and veteran members of the military.

Early reports are indicating that the jet was participating in a training exercise — hence the two pilots — and that it had been flying at very high speed when it crashed into the building, sending debris flying.
