Fiorina Plays Woman Card on Rose Bowl Pander: ‘A Girl Needs to Have a Little Fun Sometimes’

Former HP CEO and Planned Parenthood video fetishist Carly Fiorina took a lot of heat last week when she spurned her alma mater, Stanford University, to root for the Iowa Hawkeyes in the Rose Bowl. When Iowa lost, the #CarlyCurse was born, and on Sunday morning, State of the Union fill-in host Dana bash kind of destroyed Fiorina over it. Just as Carly was finishing off Ted Cruz for “saying one thing in Manhattan and another in Iowa,” Bash brought up Fiorina’s own duplicity.

Fiorina threw a whole lot of spaghetti at the wall before settling on the woman card::

Bash: You gave me an unfortunate segue to the next question, talking about the political class and saying one thing and meaning another when you want to get elected. Stanford University, where you went to college, they played Iowa Friday in the Rose Bowl. Before the game got underway you tweeted this, “I love my alma mater but rooting for a Hawkeyes win today #rosebowl.” I’m sure you’ve seen it, when Iowa got creamed people started tweeting about the #carlycurse.

Fiorina: For heaven’s sakes, can’t a girl ever have a little bit of fun? That was a tongue in cheek tweet which the people of Iowa understand. I was asked over and over again in Iowa, having attended a Hawkeye tailgate. They knew my heart was torn. Based on this reaction you would think I had said something controversial like “ISIS is a JV team.” If the biggest mistake I make is about a Rose Bowl, the American people will sleep safely when I am President of the United States.

Bash: It was a joke, not real?

Fiorina: Yes, it was tongue in cheek. For heavens sake, a girl needs to have fun sometimes. I guess it was a slow news day for the media.

Give her credit, though, at least Fiorina left her parasol and fan in the greenroom.
