Fox Contributor Shares His Shock at Seeing Crowd Cheer For the ‘Butchery of Jews by Hamas’ at DC Protest

Fox News contributor Guy Benson recalled what he saw over the weekend at a Pro-Palestinian protest in front of the White House during a discussion blasting the rhetoric of many on the left.

The segment began with Kayleigh McEnany reporting on some of the protesters’ rhetoric in recent days.

“‘How many kids have you killed today?’ Well, we know Hamas killed many, many kids. Burned some of them alive. Protesters spray painted disturbing anti-Semitic graffiti like ‘Glory to our Martyrs.’ They call the terrorists martyrs and, quote, ‘dDath to Israel.’ On buildings near the Israeli embassy, they held signs likening Israel to Nazis and accusing them of genocide and left blood-red handprints on the White House fence,” McEnany began, adding:

Furious protesters even tried to scale that fence and get on White House grounds. And it wasn’t just anti-Israel protesters that slammed Biden. Democrat Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib. You can always count on her for some antisemitism.Well, she doubled down on her condemnation of Israel and smeared the president for supporting them. Mr. President.

After showing a short clip from Tlaib blasting President Joe Biden, McEnany added, “She also posted ‘from the river to the sea.’ We’ll get to that anti-Semitism in a moment. But Guy Benson, you were there. You saw this protest live.”

“So my mother-in-law was in town, and we made dinner reservations weeks ago. No anticipation, of course, that this would coincide with this gigantic, effectively pro-Hamas hate rally. And the restaurant was near the White House, and we found ourselves sort of caught up in this protest, in this march,” Benson replied, adding:

And usually, even when I disagree with a group, I will feel sort of like, okay, this is their right. They’re expressing their views. And that’s true of many of the protesters. However, I was paying attention to what was said at this rally earlier in the day. One of the speakers I just want to quote this directly, he said at the D.C. rally, quote, ‘Decolonization ain’t a metaphor. Palestinians have a right to rebel. They have a right to free their land from the river to the sea by any means necessary.’ And then for emphasis, he repeated, ‘And I do mean any means necessary.’ And that got a big cheer.

I don’t know how to interpret that other than support for the butchery of Jews by Hamas. And by the tens of thousands, people applauded that kind of message in the streets of our nation’s capital. Defacing monuments, painting blood on the White House fence. And I guess we’re supposed to just say this is normal and not pay attention to who’s at these rallies and what their messages. But I think a lot of people are paying attention. Eyes need to be wide open.

“Yet, Harris it really defies belief because there are lots of political issues in this country where, you know, you can understand both sides at least see the other side. This isn’t one of them. These were children that were killed that were murdered in their beds at 6:30 a.m. And you have tens of thousands of people marching through the streets in support of this,” McEnany added, turning to anchor Harris Faulkner.

“I had two young students on with me, one from NYU here in New York and one from Columbia today. And I had not heard the calls to globalize intifada, which is mass killing. It’s a pogrom. It’s a holocaust. That’s what the students on some of these campuses are yelling,” Faulkner replied, adding:

The young girl who was with me, Allison, the young woman, was saying that she’s leading group groups of students on campus, Jewish students to ask for their safety and really trying to put it into the bloodstream of these universities, particular particularly her own at NYU, that what’s happening is just a step away from violence.
