Fox & Friends Bash Media Coverage of MAGA Teen’s Confrontation With Native Elder

Fox & Friends criticized the media on Monday for how journalists covered the recent confrontation between a Native American Vietnam War veteran and a group of teenagers wearing Make America Great Again hats.

Nathan Phillips drew viral attention over the weekend as he attended the Indigenous Peoples March in Washington D.C., and was caught on video as he seemed to be pestered by the MAGA hat-wearing teens. New footage from the scene is raising questions about who instigated the encounter, plus Nick Sandmann, the Kentucky high school student most prominently featured in the original video, insists he did nothing to provoke and was trying to calm the situation.

As Fox & Friends noted Sandmann’s statement on the incident, the hosts took turns bashing the headlines that came out shortly after the encounter took off online.

“This just shows you can’t make judgments without knowing the full story,” Ainsley Earhardt said.

Brian Kilmeade continued by saying the media has learned nothing from their rush to cover Buzzfeed’s disputed, controversial report about Michael Cohen and President Trump.

“After Friday, with the rush to judgment on BuzzFeed…and made every panel condemning the president look so ridiculous, that shows no one learned any lesson because the next day they’re jumping to conclusion about this.”
