Fox & Friends Hosts Float Pete Buttigieg as 2028 White House Candidate Because He ‘Grew a Beard and Removed Pronouns’

The hosts of Fox & Friends floated a number of potential Democrats who could make a push for the White House in 2028, including former transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg, whose case was strengthened because he has stopped advertising his pronouns and grew a beard.

The hosts were reacting to a recent clip of Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) saying that Democrats were looking for “the safest white boy we could find” to run in 2028.

Crockett added that there was one candidate that all the donors are all lining up behind, but would not name him.

The remarks ignited speculation on the curvy couch as they pitched possible names.

“Could it be Gavin Newsom? JD Pritzker? Tim Walz?” Ainsley Earhardt asked.

“Gov. Beshear, maybe?” Brian Kilmeade added.

But it was Buttigieg who got the curvy couch talking.

“He just took his pronouns down recently,” Kilmeade said as Lawrence Jones chimed in, “He has a beard now.”

“The two things required nowadays to run a country,” Kilmeade said to laughter.

LAWRENCE JONES: Well that identity policy you guys had asked for — they’re giving it to you, and you still lost. They gave it to Kamala Harris. She didn’t even go through the process. She was the first person out of the primary back in 2020 and they still gave her the nomination with no votes at all. So they did everything that you asked them to do. And they still lost. Let me tell you, it’s not just white voters, it’s black voters as well. You see Donald Trump, 56% of young men voted for Donald Trump. 1/3 of young black men voted for Donald Trump. The Democrats have a man problem. And I think what you hear a lot from a lot the donors is they just want to win an election. They don’t care who it is, they want a moderate voice that can win the thing. I don’t think she is helping them out right now.

BRIAN KILMEADE: I thoroughly agree. I think that if ever you are a moderate right now that should scare the Republicans the most. But I watched Jared Moskowitz over the weekend. I saw some other people, Rahm Emanuel — who’s supposedly a moderate, but didn’t sound like it this weekend. If you are a moderate, they don’t want to hear from you.

AINSLEY EARHARDT: But Jared Moskowitz said they can’t run a Progressive. They won’t win.

KILMEADE: No, no, I agree with you. They don’t know that. I think Jared Moskowitz is a rarity. He knows that is what success looks like.

EARHARDT: I’m just wondering who’s she’s talking about. Who are they all considering? Could it be Gavin Newsom? JD Pritzker? Tim Walz?

KILMEADE: Gov. Beshear maybe?

EARHARDT: Pete Buttigieg?

KILMEADE: Pete Buttigieg, interesting. He just took his pronouns down recently.

JONES: He has a beard now.

KILMEADE: Those are the two things necessary to run a country.
