WATCH: Fox News Christmas Tree Set on Fire, Suspect Arrested

The large Christmas tree outside of Fox News headquarters in Manhattan was set on fire early Wednesday morning just after midnight in New York. Fox News host Shannon Bream broke the news.

“A bit of breaking news for you tonight,” she told her audience. “You’re looking at live images. This is the Fox Square in New York outside of Fox headquarters. It appears that our giant Christmas tree there, just a couple minutes ago was completely engulfed in flames.”

An NBC News 4 employee in New York saw police arresting a man near the tree. A spokesperson for the New York City Police Department confirmed that a man was taken into custody.

The incident may very well further inflame the “war on Christmas” narrative.

“It appears crews are there on the scene,” said Bream on Fox News at Night. “You can see the smoke and aftermath. They’re trying to get that under control. We’re gonna keep you posted. It is a large, beautiful, highly decorated tree right there on the Avenue of the Americas, Sixth Avenue there in New York City.”

Later in the show, Bream gave an update.

“This is our all-American Christmas tree,” she said. “The fire appears to be out for now. Moments ago you could see it was engulfed in flames. No word of any injuries there. We saw the crews there bravely fighting through this. They have gotten this under control. Looks like the fire is out for now. But we’re gonna monitor the situation, try to find out what sparked this whole thing. But for now, it looks like everybody is safe and sound. The fire is out.”
