Fox News Contributor Boldly Declares, Trump ‘Hasn’t Been Wrong on Anything’

Fox News contributor and former Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) praised President Donald Trump, stating that the president “hasn’t been wrong on anything.”

On Wednesday night, Chaffetz appeared on an extended edition of Hannity, which covered the marathon House rule vote regarding the Senate-passed spending bill that Trump backs. As the two spoke, a graphic was displayed on screen showing the ongoing vote tally for the rule. The Republicans could only afford three defections from their conference, but at that moment four had voted against it while nine other Republicans had yet to vote.

Some GOP legislators expressed concerned about the fact that the Congressional Budget Office estimated the legislation would add $3.3 trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years. Several reporters relayed that Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and his lieutenants were trying to convince some of the nos to switch their votes.

“I do think it’ll ultimately pass,” Chaffetz predicted. “I’ve been to this rodeo many times. I watched the Democrats go through this. I’ve seen the Republicans go through it. And time is actually on the side of passage. I think Speaker Johnson was right to bring it up. But my message to those, you know, my former colleagues that aren’t there yet –are you kidding me? The United States Senate passed the most conservative version of the bill they possibly could.”

Chaffetz went on to accuse recalcitrant Republicans of trying to “hold up the president’s agenda.” The former lawmaker also declared Trump has never been wrong.

“He’s been there less than six months in this term,” Chaffetz said. “Has he been wrong on anything? He hasn’t been wrong on anything. What he’s done in terms of tariffs, tackling inflation, all the safety and security going after, trying to lock down and secure the border. Give him the resources that he really needs to actually do the deportation. Give him the resources to actually build the wall. So, shame on you if you can’t get up off your chair and vote ‘yes’ on the rule.”

Earlier on Wednesday, NOTUS reported that Trump hosted several Republican lawmakers to hear their concerns. During the discussion, the president reiterated his public position that the GOP should avoid cutting Medicaid, which his spending bill does to the tune of nearly $1 trillion. Nearly 12 million people are expected to be kicked off the program. As one anonymous congressional Republican told Trump, “But we’re touching Medicaid in this bill.”
