Fox News Guest Warns Viewers of ‘Clear and Present Danger’ for General Public to Be Victims of Political Violence
Former Assistant FBI Director Chris Swecker had a simple message for Fox & Friends viewers Thursday morning: the rise of recent political violence is a “clear and present danger” to the general public. The dire warning came during a discussion about the apparent increase in political violence.
“So just weeks after a sniper killed Charlie Kirk, another sniper opens fire at a Dallas ice facility, killing a detainee and injuring two others,” Lawrence Jones opened the segment. “Officials are calling this a targeted attack, but the lead shooter investigators found casings at the scene etched with the word ‘Anti-ICE.'”
“I wanna go big picture and I don’t wanna scare the public out there, but I do wanna talk about the current threat,” Jones continued. “There’s a real threat; there should be people concerned?”
“Yeah, usually I say, the chances of the general public being targeted like this, or don’t go out of your house type of warning, I don’t do that,” Swecker replied. “But in this case, we are starting to see a real threat.”
“I do security consulting and my mind goes to parades and events, public events where there’s a lot of people gathered around the Charlie Kirk rally, they could have targeted, that shooter could have target people in the audience and taken out quite a few people, unfortunately,” he continued. “So yes, this is a clear and present danger right now.”
The two went on to discuss specific precautions that should be taken by the general public when they go outside to be prepared for their concerns about being targeted by a political violence attack, but Swecker concluded the segment by insisting, “We’re not saying don’t go out your front door. What we’re saying is be hyper aware of your surroundings.”
