Fox News’ Harris Faulkner and Guests Trash Stephanie Ruhle’s Mom for MSNBC Cameo
Fox News’s Harris Faulkner led her guests in a brutal savaging of Stephanie Ruhle’s mom, who made a small cameo on the MSNBC host’s show on Thursday.
Ruhle’s mother appeared briefly on MSNBC Thursday beside her daughter, and in a playful bit, delivered a message to President Donald Trump: “I did vote for you — I’m disappointed in the job you’re doing.”
That cameo appearance did not sit well with Faulkner, Ruhle’s daytime rival over at Fox News.
On her show Outnumbered Overtime, Faulkner knocked MSNBC’s coverage of Trump — bizarrely referring to the network as the “mainstream media,” despite herself working for the top rated network on cable news — before playing the clip of Ruhle and her mother.
“Yikes!” Faulkner exclaimed after watching the clip.
“This is obviously a stunt. A stunt for ratings, a stunt for eyeballs to get people to watch the show,” said former Democratic State Senator Capri Cafaro, who then suggested Ruhle should speak to a panel of registered voters instead of her mom.
“I also think that it’s some kind of desperation,” radio host Tammy Bruce added. She continued to argue that things “are beginning to go well” for Trump, so his critics can no longer argue from a “legitimate policy based point.”
“Your mom seems like a lovely woman, I must say, and I’m sure they had a great dinner that night. But it’s not helpful for the country,” the talk show host said.
“It did seem unprofessional in my opinion,” Cafaro added.
“It’s interesting, because sometimes you see some sort of response to this,” Faulkner opined of the MSNBC bit. “This got nothing. And so if it was a stunt, what?”
“I guess it didn’t work?” Cafaro replied, before conceding: “I mean it worked to the extent that we’re now talking about it.”
Cafaro concluded that Ruhle should speak to “real Americans” instead of her mom.
