Fox’s Charles Payne: We Sent Troops to Stop Ebola, Why Not to Save Christians?

Fox’s Outnumbered considered Monday how to balance the competing desires of using U.S. military intervention to protect Christians in the Middle East and Africa from Islamic militant violence, and of not wanting to engage in costly and counterproductive foreign entanglements (that often create the conditions for militant violence in the first place).

“This goes back to expanding reach beyond our border,” said Melissa Francis. “We’ve gotten in so much trouble doing that before. I want to say yes. I am a Christian. You know, it is so hard to watch this go on. It is an assault on Christianity. But we are spread so thin. I just don’t know.”

“Although this is not nation building,” said Fox host Charles Payne said. “We sent a bunch of troops out to stop Ebola, I think we’ve gotta find a way to help Christians around the world.”

“Then we either have to go out and wipe out ISIS or not,” Francis said, earning the agreement of the entire panel. Solved!
