Gavin Newsom Dishes Brutal Trump Mockery From World Leaders: ‘They’re Laughing Behind His Back!’
Governor Gavin Newsom (D-CA) claimed President Donald Trump is being brutally mocked by “dozens” of world leaders who are “laughing behind his back!”
Newsom has made a second career of attacking Trump and his administration, especially through the use of social media to parody Trump’s personality and communication style.
That assault continued when Newsom appeared on Thursday’s episode of Politico Live with Chris Cadelago for an hour-long Q&A, during which Trump was a frequent topic.
In one exchange, Newsom revealed that “dozens” of world leaders and ambassadors have told him they’re laughing at Trump and “playing him”:
CHRIS CADELAGO: You signed this deal with the Danish foreign minister. I want to get sort of what you’re hearing from others on this. I don’t want to ruin my source there. I was going to say, in San Francisco last week, what are they saying right now about Trump?
GOV. GAVIN NEWSOM (D-CA): Well, I won’t talk about the conversation with our friends from Denmark, but I can.
CHRIS CADELAGO: You got the Greenland?
GOV. GAVIN NEWSOM (D-CA): We didn’t talk. Notably, we did not talk–. The readout was we did talk about Greenland.
I’ve had the privilege of meeting a lot of foreign leaders. I’ve got a chance.
CHRIS CADELAGO: What’s the general? Not putting…
GOV. GAVIN NEWSOM (D-CA): They’re laughing behind his back! That did not happen– I’m making this clear. Do not conflate what I just said with the meeting I had with the Denmark delegation.
CHRIS CADELAGO: No it wasn’t them. Other foreign leaders are laughing.
GOV. GAVIN NEWSOM (D-CA): I’ve had dozens and dozens. Ambassadors met with him.
CHRIS CADELAGO: What are they saying to you?
They’re, they’re laughing behind his back! He’s being played everywhere. It’s an embarrassment.
They are! I’m just telling you, that’s universal! Universal.
Unless there’s a deal, unless there is a grift, unless a transaction.
He sends his kids out before all those trips to the Middle East to get the deal. Again, where’s Fox Prime Time on that?
