George Clooney And His Father Arrested Outside Sudanese Embassy
Actor George Clooney has been busy in Washington DC this week, trying to draw attention to turmoil in Sudan. Today, Clooney and his father, journalist and anchorman Nick Clooney, were arrested and cuffed while protesting outside the Sudanese Embassy. They were joined by NAACP president Ben Jealous, Martin Luther King III, and several members of Congress.
The actor and others are asking that the President of Sudan stop using food as a weapon by withholding aid to his country, and that the government cease “starving and raping” its citizens, as Clooney said in a speech earlier this morning. Clooney will be on Fox News Sunday, March 18th to discuss his recent trip to Sudan and call for action before Congress. Check on Sunday for our coverage of the interview.
