GOP Senator on Trump: ‘I Can’t Vote for That Guy’

Nebraska Senator Ben Sasse, a strong conservative Republican, is making it very publicly clear that he absolutely cannot vote for Donald Trump.

Sasse posted an open letter last night declaring that he won’t support Trump against Hillary Clinton. He completely rejects the idea that Trump is a fellow conservative, arguing that he does not understand the limits of the presidency and what makes America great.

He appeared with Jake Tapper on CNN this afternoon and said that as far as he’s concerned, Trump is acting like the American presidency is the endpoint of some grander-scale reality show.

Sasse said he would never vote for Clinton, but regarding Trump, “I can’t vote for that guy either.”

And Sasse even went so far as to say he would look third-party if the race comes down to “two dishonest New York liberals.”
