How to Watch the George Floyd Murder Trial

The trial of Derek Chauvin, the former police officer charged in the death of George Floyd, is set to begin on Monday and scheduled to last for around three weeks.
Floyd died last year in Minneapolis when Chauvin and several of his colleagues tried to arrest him after he was accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill at a convenience store. The arrest became a struggle that led to Chauvin pinning Floyd to the ground with his knee on Floyd’s neck for approximately eight minutes.
Medical examiners determined that Floyd’s death was a homicide resulting from cardiopulmonary arrest. Chauvin was fired from the police department, and he now faces second and third-degree murder charges. Chauvin’s colleagues were also dismissed and they are expected to be tried for aiding and abetting manslaughter in late summer.
Floyd’s death sparked international protests against police brutality, systemic racism, and social injustice. While some demonstrations were peaceful, others were marked by violence; Minneapolis is taking precautions in the event of renewed unrest in the city.
Law&Crime, Mediaite’s sister company, will stream Chauvin’s trial and conduct legal analysis as the jury selection process gets underway. The trial is expected to be televised across a broad multitude of stations, but the Law&Crime Network has compiled an extensive list of cable streams and service providers for those looking to tune in.
