‘I Can’t Even Finish One Sentence’: Powers Battles O’Reilly Over Trans Bathroom Rights

bill powersFox’s Kirsten Powers got a little frustrated with Bill O’Reilly tonight as they argued over the rights of transgender students in school bathrooms.

O’Reilly was incensed by an editorial from a North Carolina paper saying that we need to “overcome” the discomfort of male genitalia in female locker rooms. He cried, “That is insane.”

Powers pushed back against him, but he jumped in multiple times, leading her to say, “Bill, let me finish… I can’t even finish one sentence. You have to let me finish, like one or two sentences.”

O’Reilly insisted that the discomfort of more “traditional” students and parents should be taken into great account. Powers said that “being open and welcoming” did not suddenly become a non-traditional trait.

O’Reilly made it clear trans students deserve certain accommodations, “but to impose this kind of situation to young children who don’t understand… is such a violation of parental rights, of children’s rights, of everybody’s rights.”

He attributed the outrage to liberals who see no difference between the genders.
