‘Insane’: Meghan McCain Accuses ‘Gossip Reporters’ of Harassing Her and Other Ex-View Hosts

Meghan McCain accused a reporter from Page Six, whom she says has “constantly harassed me personally for years,” of interrupting her preparation for a family trip to “write an article about my time at The View” on Thursday.

“I am in the middle of trying to pack my 6th month old baby for a family trip and a page six reporter who has constantly harassed me personally for years is apparently attempting to write an article about my time at the view – which is now FIVE years ago in the past,” McCain wrote on X.

She continued, “As I have expressed explicitly, that was a very painful time in my life both personally and professionally. This addiction that both the show and gossip reporters have with harassing current and ex hosts continues to be insane. I truly wish that culture would change. I ask only to be left alone and have no desire or plans to ever return to the show.”

McCain didn’t offer any further updates or indicate who the reporter in question might be.

Page Six published an exclusive story by Carlos Greer Thursday titled “‘The View’ doesn’t want ‘pain in the ass’ Meghan McCain to return for 30th anniversary.”

Greer wrote in part, “McCain’s petulant outbursts were well documented during her time on the show. Moderator Whoopi Goldberg became so visibly fed up with her once during a debate that she scolded, ‘Girl, please stop talking!’ Meanwhile, Joy Behar didn’t mince words when McCain joked about her missing her when she returned from maternity leave after being away for three months. Behar bluntly told her, ‘I did not miss you. Zero!'”

McCain has repeatedly made it clear there’s no love lost between herself and the show’s team. “The thing about The View is that I didn’t know when I signed my contract with ABC that this is forever, that, for the rest of my life, I’m going to be bullied, yelled at, abused, and brought up for years. I haven’t been on that show in years. I’m just trying to live my life,” she said in a December 2023 interview on Michael Malice’s podcast Your Welcome.
