Jesse Watters Predicts Democratic Establishment Will Accuse Progressive Candidates of ‘Rape’

Fox News host Jesse Watters suggested that the Democratic Party establishment will attempt to thwart progressive Democrats in November’s general election by ginning up sexual assault allegations against them.

Progressives – including a handful of members of the Democratic Socialists of America – have scored victories in Democratic primaries across the country. The latest to do so is Abdul El-Sayed, who does not identify as a socialist, but has espoused progressive policies. On Tuesday, he defeated the establishment-backed Rep. Haley Stevens in the U.S. Senate primary in Michigan by one point after being outspent nine to one. The lopsided figure was due in large part to a $31 million ad buy from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, which says it will oppose El-Sayed’s bid against Republican Mike Rogers in November.

Progressives’ success has rankled Democratic establishment figures, including James Carville, who has threatened to leave the party after some upstart Democrats campaigned with leftist Twitch streamer Hasan Piker.

On Thursday’s Jesse Watters Primetime, the host predicted that the spate of leftist victories will prompt Democratic Party leadership to arrange accusations of rape against some candidates.

“If Abdul wins a general in the Rust Belt, he’s gonna have street cred,” Watters said before making sure the Fox audience knows that El-Sayed is a Muslim. “And Muslim fever is gonna spread.”

Elsewhere in the segment, Watters referred to the candidate as “the Michigan Muslim.”

“The establishment is ordering a code red, calling this a mortal danger to the party,” the host continued. “They’ve even cobbled together a war room to do opposition research on every single commie up and down the ballot. They’re treating the commies like Republicans. So, commies, get ready to be accused of rape.”

Watters then invoked Graham Platner, the former Democratic Senate nominee in Maine who withdrew from the race after a woman accused him of rape.

“Platner,” he added. “Sound familiar?”
