Jeopardy! Contestant Tricks Alex Trebek into Saying ‘Turd Ferguson’
During Wednesday’s edition of Jeopardy!, contestant Talia Lavin made something wonderful happen. She channeled a classic Celebrity Jeopardy! skit from Saturday Night Live and tricked host Alex Trebek into saying the phrase “Turd Ferguson.”
The final category was “Oscar-Nominated Songs,” and the clue described a song “from a 1999 animated film about censorship [that] had a word censored from its Oscar performance.” The answer, of course, was “Blame Canada” from South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut.
Unfortunately for Lavin, she didn’t know the answer, so she wrote down something else instead. Ever the cordial host, Trebek read out her written answer in full:
“What is the love ballad of Turd Furgeson. P.S. Hi, Mom :)”

For a refresher, here’s the original skit from SNL starring Will Ferrell as Trebek, Jimmy Fallon as French Stewart, Darrell Hammond as Sean Connery, and Norm MacDonald as Burt Reynolds — otherwise known as “Turd Ferguson.” Check it out, via NBC:
