Joy Reid: Dan Crenshaw’s Plan for Migrants Is ‘Even Douchier’ Than Greg Abbott’s

Joy Reid took aim at Gov. Greg Abbott’s plan to put undocumented migrants on charter buses bound for Washington, D.C., as well Rep. Dan Crenshaw’s suggestion they be sent to the residence of Vice President Kamala Harris.

The MSNBC host suggested there are more pressing issues the Texas governor should be focusing on.

Reid aired a clip from the Abbott’s press conference on Wednesday, where he explained, “Texas is providing charter buses to send these illegal immigrants who’ve been dropped off by the Biden administration to Washington D.C. We are sending them to the United States Capitol, where the Biden administration will be able to more immediately address the needs of the people that they are allowing to come across our border.”

The host said this “shouldn’t be surprising, given how he treats the people in his own state.”

She rattled off a series of laws and policies Abbott enacted on transgender reassignment surgery for children, abortion, Covid-19, critical race theory, and the state’s power grid.

“All of this is extremely poor governance on Abbott’s part,” Reid stated. “But somehow, somehow, another Texas was able to take Abbott’s idea and make it even douchier.”

She aired a clip of Crenshaw on Fox News earlier in the day where he said

“Now, he says that he’s gonna send them to the U.S. Capitol,” Crenshaw began. “I would kindly asked the governor to also consider sending them to Kamala Harris’ house.”

He added, “Kamala Harris has forgotten that she’s the border czar, so maybe if you put some busloads of illegal immigrants right in her backyard… so she can finally start paying attention to this crisis at our border.”

Reid responded, “Did Mexico pay for it?” She added that Texans should take a “hard look at exactly what their elected officials are actually doing for them.”
