Juan Williams Dings Trump for Slamming Melania Media Coverage: ‘Wasn’t He Worried About Hillary’s Health?’
The hosts of Fox News’ The Five slammed the media coverage of First Lady Melania Trump‘s public absence, but Juan Williams pushed back by bringing up President Trump‘s own history of spreading rumors.
Earlier today, the President took to Twitter to slam the coverage surrounding how the First Lady hadn’t been seen in public for a while after her recent surgery:
The Fake News Media has been so unfair, and vicious, to my wife and our great First Lady, Melania. During her recovery from surgery they reported everything from near death, to facelift, to left the W.H. (and me) for N.Y. or Virginia, to abuse. All Fake, she is doing really well!

…Four reporters spotted Melania in the White House last week walking merrily along to a meeting. They never reported the sighting because it would hurt the sick narrative that she was living in a different part of the world, was really ill, or whatever. Fake News is really bad!

Jesse Watters said the coverage was “humiliating” for outlets that covered it, while Greg Gutfeld gave a mock-shoutout to CNN’s Brian Stelter with more “questions” about what’s really going on.
Williams agreed “they should be kind to her,” but added, “It seems to me like Donald Trump spread more conspiracy theories than anybody. I mean, wasn’t he worried about Hillary’s health? Wasn’t he saying Obama wasn’t born in the country?”
Watters responded, “Hillary’s health was a concern, Juan.”
Gutfeld argued this is just “whataboutism” and said the media’s been acting like “vultures,” while Williams noted the hypocrisy of Trump being outraged that anyone would falsely talk about a woman getting a facelift.
