Kasich Gives Hug to Supporter in Emotional Moment That Went Viral

There was a very genuine emotional moment during a John Kasich campaign event earlier today.

A young Kasich supporter told the Ohio governor about how he “was in a pretty dark place” for a long time after a series of emotionally devastating events in his life. He said he ended up finding hope in God, his friends, “and in the presidential candidate that I support.”

He asked Kasich for a hug, and Kasich immediately obliged.

Anderson Cooper brought up the moment at CNN’s presidential town hall tonight, and Kasich talked on a very personal level about reaching out to people who are hurting and connecting with them.
