Keith Olbermann’s Spit Take Over Being On A Deserted Island With Michele Bachmann
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann probably surprised a lot of people when she told an interviewer that she would choose to be stranded on a deserted island with liberal firebreather Keith Olbermann, but none more than Olbermann himself.
The Countdown host was so rattled, in fact, that he devoted a special pre-“Worst Persons” segment to the Bachmann interview, and after executing a not-bad-for-an-amateur spit-take, announced “I’m game.”
Granted, Bachmann was only given the choice of maroonment with either Olbermann, Chris Matthews, or Rachel Maddow, but it was still a courageous choice on her part, and her assessment of their potential maroonication displayed a surprising generosity of spirit.
Olbermann, for his part, could greatly benefit from such a meeting. The host famously eschews guests from the other side of the aisle, but perhaps a tête-à-tête (or mano-a-mano?) with Bachmann could throw off enough sparks to light the fuse on a Countdown renaissance in which the partisan lion lays down with the ideological lamb. In any case, it certainly promises to be entertaining.
