Wilmore Rips ‘Special Asshole’ Gov. Snyder For Worrying About Public Image Over Water Crisis

Larry Wilmore turned his attention on Thursday’s The Nightly Show to the water crisis in Flint, where he tore into Michigan Governor Rick Snyder‘s conduct during the ongoing disaster.

Seeing as how Snyder’s recent actions have ranged from throwing his wife a decadent birthday party to hiring public relations firms to help him with his image, it came as no surprise that Wilmore called Snyder a “special asshole” for diverting his focus away from the poisoned populace. After a petition to recall Snyder failed due to typo and grammatical errors, the host sarcastically asked “the water is filled with poison particles, and you’re concerned about dangling participles?”

Wilmore also sunk his teeth into how the people of Flint have needed to resort to petitions to recall Snyder for other matters, while other officials have already been punished for their handling of the crisis.

“Two years of negligence, and only one lady is sent packing,” Wilmore said. “Call me crazy, but I think poisoning children should have higher consequences than The Bachelor.”
