Laura Ingraham Calls On Taylor Swift To Perform At Trump Inauguration: ‘A Great Moment For Unity’
Fox News host Laura Ingraham called on pop superstar Taylor Swift to offer to perform at President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony in January, quipping that it would be a “great moment of unity for the country.”
Swift, who just concluded her worldwide Eras tour this week, endorsed Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris during the presidential campaign, prompting a furious debate response from Trump on Truth Social post declaring his hatred for Swift. In August Trump had shared fake AI-generated images claiming Swift had, in fact, endorsed him.
Opening Thursday’s show, Ingraham reflected on the announcement that Trump had been made Time magazine’s Person Of The Year, the second time in his life that he’d won the award.
“Who else could have gotten person of the year this year? You can’t give it to Taylor Swift again!” the host joked.
She continued, suggesting how Swift could make amends for her endorsement of Trump’s opponent: “Speaking of Taylor Swift, the Angle does have advice for her: Call Trump and offer to perform at the inauguration. It would be smart for Taylor Swift and another great moment of unity for the country.”
Addressing the singer directly and quoting back one of her songs, Ingraham added: “Come on, Taylor, are you ready for it?”
The host argued her plea: “Absolutely anything is possible. It is almost Christmas. We have seen a lot of miracles this year. [Trump] barely misses getting killed by an assassin’s bullet and he goes to win the White House? And we survived as well, as a country, at least so far, living under a long-gone Biden. And now America has a chance with its best fighter back in the ring.”
