Laura Ingraham Tells Trump His Plan To Paint Historic Building Would Turn It Into ‘A Big White Blob’

Fox News host Laura Ingraham did not hide her distaste when President Donald Trump presented her with his plan to paint the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which opened in 1888 and was named for the 34th president in 1999.

On Wednesday’s edition of The Ingraham Angle, the host aired additional footage from her interview with the president on Monday. Trump showed off his plan to make over the Executive Office Building with a new paint color.

“Is the Executive Office building color going to be changed?” Ingraham asked Trump as they walked through the White House. “I heard a rumor of that.”

The host noted that she worked in the building as a member of the Reagan administration.

“So, you know it was always considered an ugly building,” Trump replied. “But it’s actually one of the most beautiful buildings ever built.”

“I kinda like it,” Ingraham said.

Trump then showed Ingraham a rendering of the building with a new paint job, leading to this exchange among them and Fox News contributor Raymond Arroyo, who was also present:

TRUMP: Look at that. How beautiful that is with a coat of paint.

INGRAHAM: So, is it just painting, though?

TRUMP: It’s all painting. Most of it’s painting.

INGRAHAM: So, what is it now? Just natural?

TRUMP: Cleaning and pointing and painting. It needs other work, too. Look at that, how beautiful that is.

INGRAHAM: But you don’t worry that it’s like a big white blob? That’s–

TRUMP: No, no. No, no. What it does is it brings out all the details.

INGRAHAM: You’re a builder. I’m not. I have no aesthetic ssense.

TRUMP: It really brings it out to detail. Do you understand, Raymond?

ARROYO: I do.

INGRAHAM: Suck up.

During their tour, Trump bragged about his plans to build a ballroom on the site of the White House’s old East Wing, which the president demolished last month.

“This is the equivalent of what I’d do with the ballroom,” Trump said. “I’ve built many ballrooms in many buildings. And that’s my greatest strength, actually. I might as well do this.”

Ingraham was at the White House in March, when Trump explained he would pave over part of the Rose Garden.
