Lynne Patton Hits Back at Rep. Rashida Tlaib: You’re the Racist

Lynne Patton, who works as an official in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, responded Thursday to Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) calling her a “prop” for Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) to hide behind.

Patton — who was a guest of Meadows’ at Michael Cohen’s hearing before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday — told Fox & Friends on Thursday she would ask Tlaib why she would believe Cohen over herself.

“You know what I would like to ask the congresswoman of Michigan, why she takes the word of a self-confessed perjurer, criminally convicted white man over a black female, who is highly-educated, rose up through the ranks of one of the most competitive companies in real estate, spoke before 25 million people at the Republican National Convention, and now works in one of the most historic administrations in history and so to me, that would be my question,” she said.

“That is more racist than being put up there as quote-unquote prop,” Patton added. “You know, Trump has time and time again done so much for the black community and I’m proud to be a part of it.

“She apologized. Did you accept her apology? Have you talked to her, she reached out to you,” Fox News’ Ainsley Earhardt asked.

“She didn’t apologize to me. I think she apologized to Congressman Mark Meadows for implying he was racist, which is also laughable. You know, I was there again not to push back against a racist narrative, but I was also there to push back against a liar,” Patton replied.

She also said there would be no amount of money in the world she would take in order to work for a racist.

“I work here because I know this man is making a difference,” she explained.
