Melissa Rivers Makes First TV Appearance Following Joan Rivers’ Death

Melissa Rivers made her first television appearance following her mother Joan‘s death on Friday evening for a special hour of E! Fashion Police dedicated solely to the late comedian.

Rivers introduced the special — entitled Fashion Police: Celebrating Joan, featuring Kelly Osbourne, Giuliana Rancic and George Kotsiopoulos — by standing over the chair her mother used for the show.

Praising her mother’s “100% absolutely original” style of comedy, Rivers said the show wants to bid farewell to Joan the only way she’d like: By remembering her funniest moments.

Rivers is an executive producer on the E! series.

The program featured behind-the-scenes footage of Rivers, in addition to wistful interviews with family and friends, and flashbacks to clips of her finest comedic moments.
