Morning Joe‘s Mika Blasts Discussion of Trump’s Mexico Visit: ‘This is Stupidity’

While most of the mainstream media seems to have lost its way in the surreal hellscape that is the 2016 presidential election, Morning Joe co-host Mika Brzezinski is slowly emerging as an unlikely voice of reason. Even as most of her news media colleagues gush about Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump‘s “presidential”-looking visit to Mexico Wednesday, Mika was impatiently telling her co-hosts to quit “pretending” that Trump’s visit was anything but a “joke”:

This is a joke. We’re trying to make this into something it’s not. Can we please just get it over with? …This stupidity. This ridiculous session of a fringe alt-right Republican candidate had with the president of Mexico about a wall that is never going to happen. please, let’s not pretend this is some sort of foreign policy discussion. This is stupidity.

Brzezinski delivered a similarly canny critique of the media’s Trump coverage earlier this week, as well, telling her colleagues that “We’re just pretending to make up analysis of stupidity.”
