MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts Declines Telling Wanda Sykes His Vote: ‘I’m A Journalist’

Actress and comedian Wanda Sykes is hosting Logo’s “NewNowNext Vote,” where she chose to focus on what we have in common rather than what sets us all apart. And might that be? Alcohol, of course.

Sykes was joined by MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts — who, like Sykes, is a gay and out media personality. Roberts brought up the topic of voter suppression, saying that “Republicans want to make sure you’re in line at the DMV or you’re in line getting your birth certificate” instead of going to go vote. He declined to answer Sykes’ question about who he’d be voting for, saying only “I’m a journalist.”

Sykes winkingly noted that she already knows whom he’s voting for, then mentioned that one thing that brings us all together, regardless of sex, gender, orientation, or political affiliation:

Well, Democrat or Republican, gay or straight, transgender or bi, we are united by our love and respect for delicious flavored vodkas.
