Musk’s Dad Befuddled by His Son Accusing Trump of Being In Epstein Files: ‘I Don’t Know What He Was Thinking’
Errol Musk, father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, commented on his son’s public feud with President Donald Trump on Friday, calling it “silly” and predicting that Trump would ultimately “prevail.”
In an interview with Al Arabiya English’s Global News Today, Errol Musk said he had not spoken directly to Elon Musk about the spat but had urged him in a message to let tensions cool.
“I haven’t spoken to him, but I did send him a message, you know, telling him to make sure this fizzles out,” Musk told host Tom Burges Watson.
Asked about his son’s now-viral claim on X that Trump is listed in the Jeffrey Epstein files, Errol Musk responded bluntly, “I have no idea. I don’t know what he was thinking.”
He added, “I think people lash out when they’re under stress. I can only imagine that’s just a silly mistake.”
Errol Musk appeared baffled by the feud, framing it as a battle of egos.
“This is also nonsense because, you know – nobody’s innocent of anything. It’s just bulls. Elephant bulls or alphas having a go at each other.”
The elder Musk offered a sweeping endorsement of Trump, saying, “Trump, of course, will prevail because he has been voted in by the majority of the people in America. I just spent three weeks there — the people are, I would like to say 80%, but actually 100% behind Trump.”
The high-profile feud between Trump and Elon Musk exploded Thursday after Trump publicly dismissed Musk’s influence on his 2024 election win and accused him of benefiting from billions in federal subsidies.
Musk hit back, calling Trump ungrateful and later accusing him of being listed in the sealed Epstein documents.
The back-and-forth quickly became personal, with Trump writing on Truth Social that Musk had “gone CRAZY.”
At one point, Musk posted on X, “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.”
