NJ Restaurant Worker Explains How Employees Were Crushed After Thinking They Won Powerball

powerballBy now you may have seen that video of the New Jersey restaurant workers who briefly thought they won the Powerball. Unfortunately they didn’t, and one of them appeared on CNN today to explain just how crushed they were.

These 42 employees get really excited in the video upon thinking they won. Bartender Charlie Poveromo told Brooke Baldwin they bought 200 tickets and they checked the wrong number on the Powerball website.

He said the excitement was building and half-joked about how people were getting ready to quit their jobs and tell people off.

But then, he said, his wife asked him to check the numbers again, and they had been updated, and in an instant the excitement was “gone.”

However, Poveromo said, they’re all in for tonight.
