Oops: CNN Mixes Up DEA Chief with AG Nominee Loretta Lynch

Someone in the CNN control room prematurely jumped to a photo montage of yet-to-be-confirmed attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch on Tuesday afternoon while anchor Brooke Baldwin and reporter Evan Perez were discussing the resignation of DEA chief Michele Leonhart.

Neither Baldwin nor Perez acknowledged the mistake, which seemed to imply that Lynch was involved in some sort of “sex party scandal,” either during the segment or after a break:

Eventually, CNN realized what had happened and replaced Lynch’s photos with ones of Leonhart. But after just a few seconds, Baldwin shifted gears — back to Lynch.
