Rep. Mia Love Gives Cruz Advice on Dealing with ‘Left-Wing Media’
Representative Mia Love (R-UT) appeared on Fox & Friends Wednesday morning and told guest host Kimberly Guilfolye that the “left wing media’s” pouncing on Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) following the announcement of his presidential bid was “par for the course.”
“Are we surprised that the mainstream media is going to bash a conservative?” Love said. “You just have to ignore it and continue to go and represent people.”
Guilfoyle wondered why the media didn’t celebrate the GOP’s diversity. “You have people stepping out as stars of the GOP, like yourself: a woman, an African-American, coming forward, representing those principals,” Guilfolye said. “We see that with Senator Cruz as well. Why can’t we highlight the positive aspects of that achievement and that growth?”
Love invoked ESPN pundit Stephen Smith’s recent comments that African-Americans needed to be more open to voting GOP. “When he starts talking about those things, we should start listening,” Love said.
