Sanders Tells Fallon About Beating Trump: His ‘Crap is Not Going to Work’
Bernie Sanders was asked for his thoughts to the latest outrage generated by Donald Trump, and held nothing back on how he feels about the plutocrat’s call for banning all Muslims from U.S. entry.
Jimmy Fallon brought up the matter while Sanders was joining The Tonight Show Tuesday night, to which Sanders notes that he Trump was once again using demagogue to divide Americans and create distractions from real issues.
“A few months ago we were supposed to hate Mexicans, and he thinks they are all criminals and rapists,” Sanders said. “And now we are supposed to hate Muslims, and that kind of crap is not going to work in the United States of America.”
After this, Sanders explained that the best way for Americans to address the nation’s problems was by encouraging a sense of unity, rather than continuing to scapegoat various groups. When Fallon asked if he was more concerned about Trump than Hillary Clinton, Sanders expressed confidence and relished for a chance to go tete-a-tete with the GOP frontrunner.
“I look forward to beating Donald Trump. I will enjoy that race very, very much,” said Sanders.
