Seth Meyers to Trump: Why Don’t You Have Your ‘Dumb’ Military Parade Along The Mexican Border?

On Wednesday night, Seth Meyers knocked President Trump for sending the National Guard to the US/Mexico border.

He began by playing numerous clips of Trump venting about the lack of security at the southern border as well as the “catch and release” program.

“That’s right, it’s called ‘catch and release,’ or as Trump used to call it, ‘marriage,'” Meyers quipped.

The Late Night host then mocked Trump for wanting the military to secure the border in coordination with Defense Secretary Gen. Jim Mattis.

“Oh great, another thing for Gen. Mattis’s to-do list. He’s already planning your dumb military parade, now you want him to guard the border,” Meyers reacted. “Why don’t you combine the two and have the parade along the Mexican border? If you think about it, have you ever tried crossing the street during a parade? Immigrants would walk up to the border and be like, ‘Aw man, this is today? Ugh, bagpipes. Let’s get out of here.'”

Meyers ridiculed Trump for botching the pronunciation of “militarily.”

“Was that a word or did your teeth try to escape your mouth again?” Meyers asked. “Trump is less articulate than a seven-year-old in the back of his mom’s sedan after dental surgery.”

He also made fun of Trump’s hand gestures when he praised the militarized border between North and South Korea last week, something the late night host interpreted as sexual.

“What is this?!?” Meyers exclaimed. “I think he wants to f**k the border!”
