‘She’s Cooked!’ Fox Hosts Torpedo AOC After Brutal Clips Of Hecklers At Town Hall
The hosts of Fox & Friends Weekend tore into Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) after the congresswoman faced protesters shouting her down at a Friday town hall in Queens.
During Ocasio-Cortez’s town hall, pro-Palestinian demonstrators began shouting from the audience.
“I’m a healthcare worker and I want to know what you’re doing about the genocide in Gaza!” one said.
Ocasio-Cortez was accused of doing nothing to address the state of Gaza amidst the Israel-Hamas war and she was branded a “liar” by protesters before she told the audience there were “ground rules” to the event. After airing the footage on Saturday morning, Fox News also shared three past videos — two from 2022 and one from 2023 — in which Ocasio-Cortez was also confronted by constituents at town halls.
In one video from October 2022, the crowd chants, “AOC has got to go,” while the congresswoman dances. Ocasio-Cortez has become a rumored potential 2028 nominee for Democrats, especially as she’s been drawing large crowds with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) through their “Fighting Oligarchy” tour.
“She doesn’t know what to do. Sometimes she dances. Sometimes she mocks the constituents and says, okay, okay, okay,” Rachel Campos-Duffy said.
Campos-Duffy shared video she took in March in which four constituents in Ocasio-Cortez’s district either said they did not know who she was or they were unaware of any work she has done while in office.
“There’s a lot of problems in that district and she’s just not there,” she said.
Charlie Hurt accused Ocasio-Cortez of prioritizing her popularity on social media over her actual district.
He argued:
This is the real problem with politics in the age of social media where you have politicians who are able — it’s almost like we’re going back to some sort of feudal system where politicians have their fiefdoms because they can sort of jump the tracks, they don’t care about constituent services, they don’t care about knowing the people in their neighborhood, not necessarily even from a place but they’re able to jump onto social media, raise gargantuan amounts of money, generate all of this support because, look at that, she’s very appealing. She says things that appeal across the country so she is able to just completely leave behind her district.
“Can you name one law that she has sponsored in Congress that has made it over the finish line? If you can’t, that means you’re not even doing your job there, let alone what’s happening in New York,” Kevin Corke added.
Hurt acknowledged President Donald Trump is “celebrity” politician similar to Ocasio-Cortez, but he insisted the New York congresswoman will be unable to handle tense moments on a national level, citing her town halls as evidence.
“That’s the difference between Trump supporters who still love him and trust him, you can have a celebrity but that celebrity better love people and better love finding solutions for people and that’s the secret to his success,” he said. “And it’s why I think she could win the Democrat nomination, but I think on a national election, I think she’s cooked.”
