Stephen Colbert Becomes Frustrated With Reasonable ‘Occupy Wall Street’ Protesters

Occupy Wall Street is a self-described leaderless resistance movement that aims to expose the purported “abuse and corruption of corporations, banks and governments.” The so-called “Days of Rage” has been relatively ignored by the mainstream media, but last night Stephen Colbert focused his attention on activists after having sent a crew to Lower Manhattan. What they found was shocking: reasonable protestors that intelligently explain their protests.

Colbert presented the story of leaderless resistance movement (which intends to occupy Wall Street for months) with skepticism, claiming ” if there’s one thing New Yorkers never ignore, it’s people sleeping in a park. After showing a couple of reasonable protesters, Colbert insisted that “Jimmy” find “a liberal, some nut job in a burlap sack with a squirrel hat and goggles that does performance art and puppet shows in the subway.” Et voilà!
