Tiffany Cross Calls It an ‘Actual Fact’ Stephen Miller Is a ‘White Supremacist’ During Wild CNN Panel
Tiffany Cross declared during a wild CNN panel that it’s “journalist integrity” to call White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller a “white supremacist.”
Cross joined Abby Phillip on CNN’s NewsNight on Monday along with panelists Arthur Aidala, Brad Todd, and Jaime Harrison. The group quickly fell into crosstalk and loud voices fighting for attention after they watched a clip of Miller celebrating the National Guard deployment to Washington, D.C. as a success.
Speaking from the White House, Miller said people are “wearing their watches again. They’re wearing jewelry again. They’re carrying purses again. People have changed their whole lives in this city for fear of being murdered, mugged, and carjacked.” The statement followed D.C. going more than 10 days without a homicide as Trump upped federal oversight as part of a crime crackdown in the city.
After the Miller clip, Cross declared Miller is “wrong” about D.C. while Aidala, an attorney and pundit, excitedly called Miller “right” while briefly showing off his own watch, saying he used to keep it hidden in his top drawer. As he and Cross tried to make their arguments, Aidala accused Cross of being out of touch, asking if she took a car service to the show that night.
“I bet you took a car service here!” Aidala said. “I bet you get chauffeured around. When was the last time you were on the subway?”
“Excuse me, you have no idea about my life,” Cross shot back.
“Okay, so when was the last time you were on the New York City subway? Tell us,” Aidala continued.
“Last week,” Cross said.
“Okay, did you feel comfortable? Did you feel safe?” Aidala asked.
Cross confirmed she did and then took the floor to make her point about Miller being a “white supremacist.”
“Any time that we play something from Stephen Miller, it would be journalistic integrity to point out that he is a white supremacist, and he is the brainchild behind this policy. That’s not my opinion. That’s actual facts,” she said. “And for him to purport lies from the Oval Office as a white supremacist, it should be pointed out.”
“You’re casting big aspersions here,” a skeptical Aidala responded.
Cross noted that she was referring to actual reports about leaked emails from Miller. Southern Poverty Law Center’s Hatewatch reviewed leaked emails from Miller in 2019 that saw the White House official promoting “white nationalist literature” and “racist immigration stories.” Cross specifically referred to The Washington Post’s coverage on the SPLC report.
